Start Before You Know

Nobody has all the answers.

Sometimes we look at people who are further down the road and assume they knew exactly what they were doing from the beginning. Like they had some perfect plan, knew all the right steps, and confidently followed them one by one.

But most of us are figuring it out as we go. And that's okay.

Start Before You Know

You don't need to know exactly where something will lead before you take the first step. You don't have to be an expert before you try. You don't have to have every detail figured out before you begin.

Sometimes the only way to learn what comes next is to start moving. You'll make mistakes. You'll change your mind. You'll discover things you never even knew you needed to learn.

That's not failing. That's learning.

Get Comfortable Hearing No

Sometimes you're going to hear no. Actually, sometimes you're going to hear a lot of nos.

You might get turned away a thousand times. You might spend weeks reaching out, applying, asking, sharing, trying, and feel like every answer coming back is the same. No.

But what if you stopped being afraid of it? What if no became the answer you expected?

Shoot your shot anyway. Send the email. Fill out the application. Ask the question. Share the idea. Try the thing.

Let them tell you no. Because you don't need everyone to say yes. Sometimes you only need one or two yes answers to completely change where you're headed.

Keep Going

Not everything works the first time. And not every opportunity is going to be yours.

That's okay.

Keep learning. Keep adjusting. Keep showing up. If something feels right for you, give it room to grow. Maybe it happens tomorrow. Maybe it takes a year. Maybe the path changes completely along the way.

You don't need to have all the answers. You don't need everyone to believe in it. And you definitely don't need every answer to be yes.

You just need to keep trying. Because if you wait until you know exactly what you're doing, or until you're sure nobody will tell you no, you might spend your whole life waiting.

Move forward while you're still learning. Shoot your shot. Let them say no. And keep going until you find the yes that matters. 🌿
